PolishGalore on Nail It!: Seche Bright and Bold Summer 2013 Collection

Are you reading Nail It! online yet? In addition to the magazine, published every other month, the Nail It! website provides you with more nail art, nail news, interviews and all over nail goodness. Currently, I have an article up about the Summer 2013 Seche lacquer collection Bright and Bold.

You'll be able to see each shade in its glory and coming soon to PolishGalore, I'll go more in depth about each polish but I can tell you, these were very opaque and highly pigmented.

You can pick up Seche lacquers at Ulta.com and coming this fall, they will be carrying the entire core line - that's 58 shades! Plus the seasonal collections, and they have some fantastic ones planned. This collection can be found at beauty supply stores around the country and some e-tailer websites like Head2Toe Beauty.

Again, go check out my article now on Nail It!

Dermelect Summer 2013 Collection

I love hearing about nail polish companies partnering with beauty bloggers - we ARE a driving force in the beauty world. I personally do not buy nail polish anymore without looking it up online first for a blogger swatch.  I don't know Karie Frost but I'm very happy for her!

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals and Celebrity Nail Tech, Elle, extended a hand to guest collaborator Karie Frost, founder of top beauty blog FearNoBeauty.com, to create ME’s Summer 2013 Lacquer Collection. Aptly named Fearless Beauty, the eye-popping four color lacquer collection contains Dermelect’s signature anti-aging, peptide-infused formulation, designed for women who desire to grow out long, strong, natural nails without compromising fashionable fingertips.

"I see hundreds of new nail products cross my desk each year, and Dermelect really caught my eye," says Frost, who not only founded beauty blog FearNoBeauty.com, but has also worked for 12+ years on top nail industry magazine Nailpro and new consumer nail magazine Nail It!. "The science behind the nail treatments, and now the new ME lacquer colors, truly deliver stronger, longer nails—the perfect canvas for brilliant manicures. I wanted to bring brave new colors to the brand's ME lacquers—colors that will not only inspire women to take fun, fearless shade risks with their nails, but also feel confident while doing so."

Created for beauty junkies who love to push boundaries, the Fearless Beauty collection contains four creamy hues injected with high-voltage bright pigments, guaranteed to turn heads.

Dermelect ME Core Lacquers

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals has come a long way in their quest to help women keep and grow out their natural nails while providing a fashionable alternative to acrylics.

You only have to use 2 coats, no base, no top. The ME colors combine fast drying, high shine and a healthy "green" dose of vitamins, peptides and moisture.

LVX Modena

Have you missed my regular postings? I have really missed writing. First, my PAS (point-and-shoot) camera broke. It was my trusty Canon Powershot A2000 IS that I bought right after my son was born so it's over 6 years old. The bottom hinge broke and I was pretty much scared to use my DSLR that I purchased last year.

Well,, as expected, my blog and its readership suffered. I love bringing you the latest news from brands, but especially after my Google+ Chat with Cult Nails, I realized that I want to be a library of nail polish swatches, for you to go through, and the camera shouldn't be what stops me.

The next 12 or so reviews I have coming out will all have been taken with my DSLR and because the size on it is larger, I've decided to crop my photos differently. Please do let know me what you think in the comments!  (Also, I bought a Canon PowerShot A4000 IS to replace my 2000 this past weekend.)

Back to the polish. From the LVX Summer 2013 collection, today I have Modena, a poppy red creme that is just flat out HOT. I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. I love how opaque and well formulated LVX is.

Here it is in the sun and you can see how lovely it is - very red, very awesome. I felt like a powerhouse wearing it.

Same story but in the shade. I've had a lot of fun playing with my lightning but with most cremes, the polish doesn't change much. Now if LVX starts making more shimmers...  LOL.  Hard to make a shimmer when you're following fashion - they don't do a lot of shimmers (or any duochromes... or glitters...).

Anyway, back to the polish. Don't forget that my sale on Gloss48 lasts until this Monday, otherwise you can purchase this beauty at $16 a bottle on the LVX website.

LVX [Website | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram] is available on their website. It is 10-free to include Toluene and Camphor, vegan and cruelty free. Use promo code POLISHGALORE for 20% off your purchase!

Hand Perfection Hand Care

I didn't start really paying attention to my hands and my nails until about 5 years ago. I try to keep lotion around and on at all times but I'm not always as diligent as I should be. Have you heard of Hand Perfection before? This is definitely a new-to-me brand from CCA Industries. They also make Bikini Zone, which I have used before.

Hand Perfection was created with Ellen Sirot, the nation's top hand model. It's fragrance-free, non-greasy, goes on smooth and absorbs quickly for an invisible, weightless free.

The product that really caught my eye (and that I will actually use) is the Nail and Cuticle Treatment ($9.99.)

The Hand Perfection brand

Nourishing Day Cream with SPF 15 (SRP $14.99)
Rejuvenating Night Cream (SRP $14.99)
Nail and Cuticle Treatment (SRP $9.99)
Combo pack which contains the Nourishing Day Cream and Rejuvenating Night Cream (SRP $24.99)

Hand Perfection will be available in January 2013 at CVS, Walgreens, Albertsons, Duane Reade, Harmon and other fine stores across the country.  Please visit us at www.handperfection.com and on Facebook@HandPerfection.

Hand Perfection is from CCA Industries, Inc.  CCA develops, manufactures and markets high quality, innovative health and beauty care products available at fine food, drug, discount and supercenter stores everywhere.  Other top brands include Nutra Nail, Bikini Zone, Plus White, Sudden Change and Shadow Shields.

Summer LVX on Gloss48!

This summer marks the 1 year anniversary of the brand LVX. Over the past year, LVX has consistently come out with fashion forward polishes that mimics current trends on the runway; all highly pigmented, great formula and opaque in just two coats.  This is on top of already being big-5 free, vegan, cruelty free, made in the USA, long lasting and just flat out awesome.

Now, you may remember Gloss48 as well. When they first launched in 2011, their goal was to create a shopping experience unlike the current norm. Instead of wading through thousands of products, they brought brand stories, product demos, editorial reviews and the best pricing online to give beauty lovers a daily glimpse of beauty nirvana.  I was able to introduce Cult Nails to the Gloss48 in August last year because it's a company that I truly believe in and support.  Today, I get to do the same with LVX under their new Gloss Boss program.

The sale, which launches today, includes all 6 polishes in the Summer 2013 collection, available in three adorable duo sets:

Poppy Red and Soft Tan Duo - Modena and Rive

Cool Blue and Vibrant Coral Duo - Celeste and Deco

Serene Green and Dramatic Raspberry - Mynt and Chambord

LVX retails for $16 a bottle, so normally these sets would be $32 each. However, with the Gloss48 sale, you can take home each duo set for only $23.

All polishes are shown with a base coat, 2 coats of polish and a top coat.

So, how do you get your hands on this?  First, you need to register for Gloss48 as it is a membership website only, but membership is free and you don't have to play around with any affiliate links or membership codes.  (In plain English, I receive no kickback or incentive from your membership.)

Secondly, visit the sale page.  Let me make it nice and big for you:

Third, purchase! Please note that currently Gloss48 is only available for USA residents. And don't waste time - the sale ends on Monday June 17th and quantities are limited.

Extra stuff
  • I will have my normal reviews of each color throughout the week, so check back on PolishGalore daily for another polish review!
  • If you'd like to be a Gloss48 Gloss Boss featuring your favorite brand, fill out their online form here.
  • Check out the social media for each brand!

Jordana Cosmic

My local HEB Grocery Store has really been stepping it up with their cosmetics, and I squealed a little when I saw a new Jordana display. I had not seen Jordana since Cosmoprof 2011 so this was a happy day. I grabbed Cosmic, a blue, green and silver circle multi-sized glitter in a clear base.

I used one coat of Cosmic over one coat of Cult Nails Tempest and topped it with Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

I love this glitter. It's subtle but fun. The colors are totally up my alley.

I've since lost my receipt but I want to say I only paid $2.99 for this bottle.  Not even three dollars.  Winner.

Jordana [Website | Facebook | Twitter] can be found in various drug stores and supermarkets for around $2.99 a bottle.

China Glaze Texture Collection

So last year at Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas, I was told I could NOT talk about Texture - the textured polish that China Glaze came out with. We totally thought we were in the clear until I realized that one of my photos I published had the world "Texture" in the photo on the bottom of the shelf.
Yeah.

People online jumped on it quick and I felt like I was going to be blacklisted for life.  LIFE YO.  But all was good, I replaced the image on the fly and the world kept turning.

Now, not only can I talk about them but I also own them all (because I have to own them all!).  Please enjoy the following release:

GETTING DOWN TO THE NITTY GRITTY

China Glaze® Introduces Texture: the Newest Technology in Nail Lacquer

China Glaze® introduces Texture, a unique new lacquer that applies as a crème but dries with a 3D texture effect. Unlike traditional nail art techniques that require multiple steps, Texture only requires one step—painting the nail.  Texture dries matte, but can be combined with China Glaze® Fast Forward Top Coat for a glossy effect. With a finish similar to that of a sugared rim, Texture is the perfect accessory for a beach day, night-on-the-town, or special rendezvous.

In The Rough: light lime green with textured grit
Unrefined: bright pink with textured grit
Itty, Bitty & Gritty: melon with textured grit
Bump & Grind: hot pinkish-red with textured grit
Of Coarse!: bright cobalt-blue with textured grit
Toe-tally Textured: tangerine-orange with textured grit

The China Glaze® Texture collection will be available in May 2013 at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide.

China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde.

China Glaze nail lacquers are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide. For more information, please visit www.chinaglaze.com or follow China Glaze on Facebook (@ChinaGlaze), Twitter (@ChinaGlazeOfficial) and Pinterest (pinterest.com/chinaglaze).

Cult Nails Tempest

I don't know if I can tell you enough how much I love Cult Nails polishes.  I literally own all the ones you can buy and I continue to buy their new collections because they really have a product I want to stand behind. Especially THIS.  This is my Holy Grail. This is my staple! I actually own a backup (and I don't own backups).  This is the ONE COAT white creme named Tempest.

One coat?  Yes, ONE coat.  Uno.

So I started with a base of Cult Nails Get It On, and then one coat of polish, followed by Cult Nails Wicked Fast.  This polish is a "self-leveling" lacquer which means it's a little thick but it settles into an opaque coat on the nail. Do not thin the polish, just wipe more off your brush.  With my Wicked Fast, I'm dry to the touch in less than 5 minutes.

Just one coat!

If I haven't persuaded you enough, how about this?  Starting in June 2013, ALL domestic orders no matter how big or small, includes FREE shipping.  But wait, there's more!

Yesterday, the Cult Nails Facebook Page reached 20,000 fans, so they are offering a discount until June 9th (Sunday). $15 off an order of $50 and $30 off an order of $100. For the International fans, you will get free shipping over $75! How awesome is all that? I'm thinking I may need more Tempest.

Originally this was a press sample bottle but I had purchased a bottle before I knew I was getting a press sample, and I will definitely be buying again!

Cult Nails [Website | Facebook | Twitter | Blog | Instagram: CultNails] is available in their shop for $12 a bottle.

Deborah Lippmann The Mermaids

Last month Deborah Lippmann launched her Summer collection - The Mermaids which seriously look awesome. That purple will be coming home with me.

INTRODUCING THE MERMAIDS – SUMMER 2013 COLLECTION
Summer Fantasy: Magical Mermaid Hues Inspired by Mermaid’s Dream

Make a splash this summer with The Mermaids from Deborah Lippmann. Enter the summer fantasy of mermaid-inspired hues, inspired by the fan-favorite Mermaid’s Dream that took us by storm last year.

Set your sights on a seaside cerulean with Mermaid’s Eyes or a tangerine twinkle with Million Dollar Mermaid. Get flirty with a lavender luster, Do the Mermaid or a bubbling blush, Mermaid’s Kiss. Immerse yourself in summer mermaid fantasy by adding Mermaid’s Dream and painting each nail a different mermaid shade.

Deborah elaborated on her inspiration for the collection stating, “I created these shades by listening to what customers wanted – more Mermaid’s Dream. I took the beautiful glittered shimmer to another level by creating a whole family of shades reminiscent of the cult classic. Discover the same gorgeous glittering shine in any of The Mermaids.”

Suggested Retail Price: $19 each, launching May 2013

Deborah Lippmann Romantic Rapture

I didn't even realize Deborah Lippmann had a line of lipsticks! It only makes sense that she would expand her line of beauty but I just wasn't aware. While these launched in the spring, you can still find them out.

INTRODUCING SPRING 2013 COLOR COLLECTION: ROMANTIC RAPTURE
Revel in the breath-taking rhapsody of Spring 2013! Introducing two brand new lipsticks and three new nail lacquers, the Deborah Lippmann Spring 2013 Color Collection offers a variety of bold and subtle hues that are romantically feminine.

Expanding her lipstick collection, Deborah Lippmann is launching two bright shades that give the collection a sexy punch. The formula is a unique hybrid, offering the rich, creamy texture of a lipstick and the sheer, high-shine finish of a lip gloss. She Bangs is a ravishing red that makes a bold lip statement. Call Me Maybe is a sheer cheeky coral that will be as popular as the song it was named after. They are universal yet vibrant and playful shades that are the perfect complement to any spring wardrobe. “These are two very wearable lip colors that are fun, happy and will make you look and feel beautiful,” says Deborah. “Just apply and go – if you don’t have time for anything else. A great lip shade will make you look put together and sophisticated.” she adds.

The collection also introduces Moon Rendezvous, a faded slate blue shimmer, Careless Whisper, a scintillating nude shimmer and Groove Is In The Heart, a flamingo pink crème. Deborah’s nail lacquers never cease to impress with modern, sophisticated and easily wearable hues for all ages.
