China Glaze Laser Lime

Another from the Tronica collection is Laser Lime - a lime green holographic.  Again, I didn't use a top or base coat but here is 3 coats of polish.

Here it is in the sun - the holographic is kinda hidden in this polish - which is interested because you can normally see it with the other Tronicas.

Here it is in the shade:

Again - nothing much to write home to...  I've seen a few blogs that used this as an accent color which looks pretty awesome but all alone - kinda boring.  :[

China Glaze [official website] can be found online through several etailers, including my favorite Head2Toe Beauty [official website], Sally's Beauty Supply [official website] as well asTransDesign [official website].

Sephora by OPI Mash Up vs deborah lippmann Wicked Game

As I was swatching, I was wondering how these two duochromes stacked up against each other, so here's a small comparison post for you!

I tried both of these without a base or top coat.

In the shade:
As you can see, Mash Up is more opaque and has more of a green shimmer whereas Wicked Game is more sheer and has a purple hue.

Tada!

GingerKittyDesigns Winner!

Thank you to the 38 people who entered in my GingerKittyDesigns Giveaway.  I used my AppBoxPro app on my iPhone to randomly draw a winner.

#24 is DeliciouslyPurple!  Awesome me forgot to ask for your email address in my giveaway form (oops), so please do email me (or DM me on Twitter!) so I can mail out your prize!  Thanks again to all!

deborah lippmann Wicked Game

I have been lemming this color for a long time - mostly because the promo bottles always look so beautiful!  This is an iridescent swirling lavender grey - very duochromey.

I used a base of Seche Natural, and 3 coats of Wicked Game for my index and middle fingers.  On my ring and pinkie, I first added a coat of CND Blackjack, then 2 coats of Wicked Game.  I did not use a top coat.  I also had no sun...  So depending on what angle the "light" (hah) hit, you'd see green or purple.

I definitely like it better over black - just because it shows up a little better on the nail.  I'm seriously into the whole CND Blackjack - a LOT.  I also really like duochromes.

deborah lippmann sells for $18 a bottle.  You can follow her on Twitter.

Blogs of Note

It's that time again!

First today is Painted Lady Fingers.  She has long nails and features a lot of very lovely and easy recreateable nail art.  Definitely one of my favorites for nail art!

Next is Perry Pie's Nail Polish Adventures.  She has short/medium nails and features a good variety of polishes and colors.  I also like all the little extra photos she throws in :)

Finally today is Phresh Mentality.  I love her spunk and her nails!  She has medium/long nails and has a good variety of nail art as well.

Sephora by OPI Mash-Up

I'm a big fan of Glee - watch it every week and tend to download at least one song off iTunes from each episode.  So when I heard that Sephora by OPI was making an entire Glee inspired line of nail polish, I went and got them all.

This is a nice like purple/green duochrome neatly named Mash-Up.  This is supposed to be inspired by the Glee character Will Schuester, who is the Glee Club teacher and tries to encourage the kids to make mash ups of songs.  As a random bonus, here are two "mash up" songs not done by Glee, but by random YouTubers that I like.

And back to the nail polish.

I used a base coat of OPI Natural Nail, 2 coats of Mash-Up and a top coat of OPI Top Coat.  Formula was a bit watery but okay.  Depending on how the light hits you, you'll see green, grey, purple or even a silver shimmer.

Shade:

Overall, it's a bit of a weird color.  I'm not sure that I'd buy it again, considering the price and it's more of a novelty thing.  Many polish brands have their own type of swirly duochrome in this vein, so...  ^_^

You can purchase Sephora by OPI in Sephora stores or online here for $9 a bottle.  The actual Glee line can be found here

Dr.'s REMEDY Revive

Next in the Dr.'s REMEDY Winter 2010 Collection is Revive, a shimmer-infused Wizard of Oz-inspired shade of crimson.  It's like a Ruby Red Slippers without glitter, which is nice to see.

I used a base of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Revive and a top of Seche Vite.  The formula on this one was super thin with the first coat but with the second coat, it was beautiful and even.

Can you see the satin like shimmer on the nail?  Lovely.

It's also pretty sweet looking in the shade.  I think it would look great with some metallic flowers stamped over it as well - it's a lovely base.  I might even try it with some crackle!

Dr.’s REMEDY® Enriched Nail Polish is available for $16 online at http://www.remedynails.com or by calling 1-877-323-NAIL.  You can "Like" them on Facebook.
