Nicole by OPI He's A Keeper

Also from the Nicole ♥ Walmart collection is Nicole by OPI He's a Keeper, a classic red - and it is just that.  I used a base of OPI Natural Nail, 2 coats of He's a Keeper and a top of OPI Top Coat.  The formula was nice and smooth.

Unfortunately, I've had nasty weather so all I have is one cloudy picture for you today.
As you can see, it's just a nice classic red - they definitely deliver on that one.  Good stuff!

Nicole by OPI is available beginning at ULTA, Meijer, Harmon, HEB, Sears, Wal-Mart and more for around $8 a bottle.  For more information, visit their websitefollow Nicole by OPI on Twitter or become a Facebook fan.

deborah lippmann Summer 2011

Please enjoy the following press release from deborah lippmann:

I’m calling all 80’s prom queens: you’ve inspired my newest shades! I Know What Boys Like and Girls Just Want To Have Fun take their color cues from the decade’s most vivid, over-the-top prom gowns. I wanted fun, happy, bold colors, but not the expected shimmering brights so I created shades that are loud, but have this rich, creamy base, which makes them more wearable. I turned to prom dresses past for inspiration because I remember the colors, particularly one I wore, being very off beat and interesting and to me that couldn’t be more fun, especially for summer.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun – A smooth, vintage coral that everyone can wear because it’s bold yet velvety – a sort of carefree, creamy coral.

I Know What Boys Like – A creamy periwinkle that credits to both the 80’s and my clients. Several of my clients have asked for interesting blues. This one is a blend of blue and purple with a creamy finish, which gives it a slightly retro look that is so playful and hip.

XOXO,
Deborah

China Glaze Manicures Backstage At The Sue Wong Fashion Show

Please enjoy the following press release from China Glaze.  Oddly enough, I was going to buy China Rouge last month using my Sally's Rewards but didn't.  Hah!

OLD HOLLYWOOD FASHION AND MANICURES DAZZLE L.A.

China Glaze Manicures Backstage At The Sue Wong Fashion Show

Los Angeles, CA – (April 2011): “My Fair Lady” was the theme of Sue Wong’s Fall 2011 show that took place at her private residence in Los Angeles, CA. Paying homage to the Edwardian styling of the film and the overall theme of transformation, Sue Wong decided that China Glaze was the most fashion forward polish to compliment her collection that was filled with ornate gowns, rich satins, flowing chiffons and fine laces.

To accentuate the delicate appliqué and intricate embroidery seen on the dresses of her Fall 2011 collection, Sue herself decided that China Glaze Drastic (a dark, brick red) and China Rouge (a rich, creamy red) would fit the mood she was looking to set. All manicures were then topped off Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat for a high gloss shine. Celebrity manicurist Melissa Bozant and her assistants worked quickly to get the manicures done just in the time for the show to start!

China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde.

China Glaze nail lacquers are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide. For more information, visit: www.chinaglaze.com or follow China Glaze on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ChinaGlaze

deborah lippmann Lady Sings The Blues

When I originally saw Lady Sings the Blues, I wanted it badly, but I didn't want to buy the whole three piece All That Jazz set that it was apart of, so I was super happy when deborah lippmann offered it by itself on her website.

This is a dark navy blue base with some silver hex glitter and some microglitter.  I was super happy with the coverage - nice and opaque.  I used a base of Seche Vite, 2 coats of Lady Sings the Blues, and a top of Seche Vite.

I didn't take a picture in the shade, because you really lost the color and glitter together.  Very nice color and a nice surprise from deborah lippmann.

deborah lippmann Spring 2011

Please enjoy the following press release from deborah lippmann.

At Spring 2011 fashion week, I was backstage at more shows than ever, as designers are starting to put as much thought into nails as they do makeup. I was thrilled when Badgley Mischka chose Glitter In The Air, a sheer sky blue confetti with flecks of salmon pink and blue glitter, to complement their collection. And even more excited when Naked, a clean, bare beige, was selected as the color of choice at four other influential shows.

My inspiration for Glitter In The Air was part customer request and part Pink’s magical performance at the Grammy Awards - floating through the air, wrapped in a sheer body suit with sparkles. I wanted to capture that ethereal moment in a bottle.
Naked is the perfect clean beige and is quickly becoming the most sought-after shade, replacing pale pinks and soft peaches as the new nude for spring.

XOXO,
Deborah

NOTD: 6 April 2011

I actually wore this over the weekend, but since I tend to write my posts in advance, I'm just now posting it.

Someone on Twitter had told me to try neons under shatter/crackle polish, so I thought I'd go one step further and skittle it too!  Even though there were many layers, this only took me about 10 minutes to create.

I started with a base of Seche Natural, and then added one coat of CND Brilliant White.  I let that dry and then added 3 coats of each neon - China Glaze Pool Party, China Glaze Sun Worshiper, China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, China Glaze Kiwi Cool-Ada and China Glaze Towel Boy Toy.  On top of that went a layer of Seche Vite, then a layer of OPI Black Shatter and a final layer of Seche Vite on top.  Phew!  My CND is a basic colour shade, all the China Glazes are from the Poolside 2010 collection, and Black Shatter is apart of the OPI Shatter Collection 2011.

Indoors with web camera (and both hands!)

I seriously loved this manicure - I couldn't stop staring at my hands.  It gave me the courage to Skittle (wear a different color on each finger).  I really want to try the "ombre manicure" that I saw from All Lacquered Up's blog like a year and a half ago, haha.  Also seen here on The Diary of an Indy Grrl and here from Concrete and Nail Polish.  Fun times!

China Glaze Virtual Violet

I have another Tronica polish here for you!  This one is Virtual Violet which I showed previously against LOL, but now it's time for its own post.

I didn't use a base or a top coat - this is 2 coats of Virtual Violet.  There was no sun, so here is a shade.

And here are a couple using this awesome 6500K (daylight) lamp I have.  It's not really awesome, but I pretend it is.
You can see more of the scattered holo inside - I do love purple holos!
