What did you do on 12.12.12?

Sorry I've been a bit quiet - I told you December would be super busy!  This week is my birthday (woo!) and then next week is Christmas... then the next week is New Year's!

But more importantly in my life, I had a special 12.12.12.  Why?

I GOT MARRIED!!!!

We had planned this about 3 weeks prior to just elope on this special day, I got my dress, the guys got tuxedos, my boss graciously let me use her beautiful home and gorgeous yard, a close friend (who is a minister) performed the ceremony, my dad walked me to Ryan, I had Macy Ryan Photography take amazing photos, and I had a small handful of friends there to celebrate.

My wedding manicure was nubar Purple Aster, a light lavender pearl, and my pedicure was LVX Legendaire which is a slightly grey lavender creme.  I was super happy with all of it!

  1. It's not really eloping if everybody is there, right? Confused, but congratulations on your marriage <3 <3 <3

    1. Well, about 20 people total knew, but we know over 1000 people on Facebook, through work, etc... so it was a surprise to all of them. LOL - so eloping but not. (Our parents all knew - that one was important to us. His family lives too far away or they would have been there too!)

  5. I sound like an echo, but, Congratulations! Also, I approve of your eloping/not-really-eloping. I don't think it's good to leave *important* friends and family out in the dark, but I totally respect those who wish to keep things small!
I got married this year, too. =)

    1. Thank you! Yeah, we had to tell family/some friends. One even drove 2 hours to "crash" the wedding but I've known him for a decade and he's been like a big brother to me, so I wasn't mad! Only reason I didn't invite him in the first place was because he was 2 hours away and we got married in the middle of the day, the middle of the week!

OH MY GOSH YOUR STORY!!! It breaks my heart in a good way and makes me really just love y'all and your story! Awwwwwwww!

  6. Congrats! So happy for the two of you. I LOVE that you guys did a little wedding that was not a huge big affair with tons and tons of $ spent. I did the same thing - years and years ago...there were 12 of us there. I did what I wanted exactly - not a huge thing and yet I had a real wedding dress that I loved and looked right for the wedding that was outside on the cliffs of the Pacific close to where I live. I had a cake from a great bakery. I had a little flower bouquet and we got married under white wired arch that was moved in and decorated in greens and just some little white flowers. The 12 of us when off to a order what each wanted off a special menu a restaurant did up for me - I picked about 7-9 items folks could pick from that were all going to be the same cost so no prices on the menu...this was all way pre home computer days so to have a personalized menu done up was a big deal then. I never regretted doing it this way and in less than 1 yr we had enough $ to put a down on our first condo (granted back then it was maybe $40 to get into a 2 bedroom condo - but still)...This will always be a busy month with holidays, your b'day and your anniv = but you also can combo the celebrations too. I have good friends who got married a few weeks before Christmas - they have their first born with her b'day in Dec too and it all works great making Dec a special month for the whole family.

    1. Aww sweet!!! That's is so cool - and then for you to be able to get your condo... perfect! Not everyone is a big white wedding bride, and I'm glad I wasn't!
