Road to PolishCon: Week 8

Press Sample

Did you get your tickets for PolishCon NYC yet? I have some serious FOMO going on as I'm not able to make it this year but at least I can celebrate with the Road to PolishCon polishes! This week the guest makers on Poetry Cowgirl and Great Lakes Polish.

First up is Poetry Cowgirl with "Cupid is a knavish lad". This is a sweet bubblegum pink packed with red-green and green-gold shifting aurora pigments, blue pearl micro flakies, purple pearl micro flakies, and green pearl micro flakies.

For this manicure, I used a base of React MAX from Morgan Taylor, three coats of polish and finished off with Anonymous Lacquer "With A Quickness" top coat. My lovely cats have decided they need to sit ON my desk so I'm trying to clear every thing off and have seemed to lost my base and top coat of choice. Additionally, I'm back in purge mode and getting things ready for either giveaway, sell, or display. You'll also know that this polish has a discolored label - totally my fault, or rather, my cat's fault after a hairball didn't agree with her and she aimed for my polish.

I was surprised at the depth of this polish. It really has a lot going for it which makes it not just another pink polish but really gives it shimmer and makes things interesting! Despite all the flakes and pigments, removal was not difficult and I didn't have left overs floating on my cuticles, which is something I always appreciate.

The second polish for this week is from Great Lakes Lacquer and it's called "WTF Puck?!" This is a grass green jelly with shifting shimmer and iridescent flake that goes from orange to gold to green. I was pretty stoked about this color because is so out of my comfort zone (grass green) but the flakies in this one was SO calling my name.

Can we just take some time to look at the amazing awesomeness in that bottle. I used a base coat of React MAX by Morgan Taylor, two coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow top coat. The formula was smooth and I didn't have any issues with the flakies sticking up.
