ILNP Lily

Yesterday, I was invited to speak for Career Day at a local middle school and one of the things I mentioned was my beauty blog and how I'm officially the second longest-running, nails-only niche beauty blog in the United States (second to xoxo, Jen) and I realized that I hadn't posted in awhile! I have a lot of polish here to play with and I'm really wanting to get some organization under me again. Today I decided to wear ILNP Lily from the new Velvet collection. This is a lilac base with subtle holo and silver magnetic particles. The way that the magnetic pulls, you get more of a crushed-velvet look on the nails.

I started with Duri Rejuvavote base coat, 3 coats of polish, and finished with cuccio High Gloss top coat. This formula was quite nice on this polish and I could have gotten away with 2 coats but I wanted to really get the magnetic on there. I used the ILNP magnet that I bought when they first came out and held the magnet parallel to my nail to get the velvet effect.

I love this shade of purple but I actually didn't love the velvet look! I did more of a linear stripe on my thumb and I absolutely loved that so much more because of the way that the holo separated out from the silver for a more dynamic look. Still a great polish now with multiple ways to use it.

You can purchase ILNP on their website. For more on ILNP, be sure to follow their various social media platforms: TwitterYouTubeInstagramPinterest, and Facebook.
