So way back in December (I KNOW), Zoya made some of us in office positions VERY happy with the announcement of a nude collection! Now, why they chose to name it "Naturel" instead of "Natural" - I have no idea. Does anyone else know? Please enjoy the following release - all images courtesy of Zoya.

LVX d'Orsay

Today I have LVX d'Orsay, a pinkish nude creme. I used a base coat of Cult Nails Get It On, 3 coats of polish and a top coat of Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That.

Point blank, sad panda, this polish was a pain in my neck. My first coat was so extremely streaky that I actually took it off, and reapplied my entire manicure. I thought maybe I had oils on my nails or something but nope, same result. The second coat started to even out the streaky but not entirely. Above is three thin coats of polish - the streaks are gone but I'm not 100% thrilled with the application and the appearance on my ring finger. I feel like I need a ridge filler on that nail. I used to buff my nails once a month but I haven't done it in at least 6 months at this point.

Okay so up side - pretty creme, nice nude, definitely office appropriate. Negatives - streaky application and needed 3 coats instead of 2.

When I first heard that KBShimmer was going to release twenty-two new polishes last winter, I think my brain went into overdrive. It's really 2 collections to me in one because one was a blogger collaboration and the other was new multichromes and multichrome holographics. My biggest regret is not picking these up when they went on sale - some are sold out. From one grey to another! The LVX Spring 2014 collection starts for me with Truffle, a much lighter taupe creme. I used a base of Duri Rejuvacote, 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That. I was really impressed with how well this polish applied.

We are having a lovely rainy season so no sun, but you can see how well this color shines - in fact, you can see my trees in the reflection of my nails! No pooling, no streaking - just nice and even polishing.  This is ALMOST my perfect grey!

In my indirect light, you can see that it's a smudge too dark for my ideal grey but man it's pretty. Reminds me of a truffle mushroom.

I almost forgot to talk about this lovely little guy, LVX Relique! I used a base coat of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. The formula was nice but it didn't want to photograph well.

But I did get one photo in the shade - Relique is a taupe creme that leans a bit purple. Nicely opaque, no issue with streaking.

Looking for a red hot jelly that's vegan and cruelty free? Look no further than LVX Sanguine from the Fall 2012 collection. I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.

I love how squishy this polish is. You can see a little bit of VNL but I'm too excited about the jelly. I did have a little staining on my cuticles but not at the nails so overall I'm calling this a win.

JINsoon Nails NYFW 2014

Last September at NYFW Spring 2014 (wrap your head around that one), JINsoon had this crazy have wiped off black grunge look for the Tess Gibserson that I absolutely hated. Because of that, I wasn't quite looking forward to her fall looks this month but I'll let you be the judge. All images courtesy of JINsoon nails.

Now here is a polish more up my alley! From the LVX Winter Resort 2013, Luxe is the perfect partner to Alchemy. This silver metallic-like shimmer is the perfect year round color for spacey nails or just high fashion. Or at least that's what I call it and it's my blog so I win. 

I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. I was absolutely in love with this polish.

Now I know another certain company has come out with a chrome like silver polish backed by a certain singer... and they say "This is for one night only." Not LVX. This polish will shine brightly for up to a week without chips. Like I said, I did use a top coat and that helps keep the nails pretty and chip free. 

Definitely the standout of the collection for me. It may be because I'm obsessed with silver but it's also just a great staple polish.

Dermelect NYFW 2014 - Cynthia Rowley

Have you tried Dermelect yet? I saw their line in Ulta this weekend - quite fitting because they just did a rocking rainbow showing at Cynthia Rowley for NYFW 2014. Please enjoy the following - I certainly did. (Images provided by Dermelect - Photographer Credit Fred Namdar.)

Press Sample Also from the LVX Winter/Resort 2013 line was Tribute, a dark blue creme leaning on jelly. Dark blues tend to scare me as well because of staining issues - no one wants to look like they were killing Smurfs!

I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top of Cult Nails Wicked Fast. I used a small concealer brush for clean up because I did get some on the cuticles, but otherwise, application went well.

As you can see, my camera just freaked out when it came to photographing. That, and CSI would have a field day with the prints I left on the bottle! Thankfully, I didn't have any staining issues when I removed the polish but this is definitely a bold blue that I feel looks best on short nails on myself.

LVX Alchemy

From last year's Winter Resort Collection, LVX came out with a beautiful metallic-like shimmer gold - Alchemy. Now, you know how I feel about gold - it's pretty but not on my skin. Regardless, I was happy to see this line come out with a gold for those who do rock the look.

I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and Cult Nails Wicked Fast to top. The formula was very good on this bottle - no streaks or pulling and no flooding in the cuticles.

You might feel more comfortable wearing a ridge filling base coat with this polish if you have deep ridges but for the most part, I found this polish very easy to wear.
