China Glaze Fall 2012 through Summer 2013

Hello from Vegas! It has been a great first day here at Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas and while I have tons to show you, first I'm going to start with the brand that started ME off - China Glaze!

China Glaze had their display of On Safari, the fall 2012 collection up first.  However, I will be posting the official press release and my own swatches of that in the coming weeks.

Next was the Bohemian Collection, which you may have see the press release on other blogs.  These will be launching in August 2012 and yes, you do see a dupe to Chanel Peridot!  This was really a metallic duochrome collection, which I can see being something I'd love to wear during the fall and into the winter months.

China Glaze has also decided to bring out another round magnetic polish called Magnetix II launching in September 2012.  Along with the new colors is a new magnet that can great a bullseye, 3 parallel lines or a "Bingo grid" as I'm calling it.

For the Halloween season, we have Wicked, a 6 piece launching in October.  Also for you fans of glow-in-the-dark, Gholish Glow will be sold in the 4 pack only.  The green glitter is a bit like last year's but less dark.  The grey has beautiful blue microglitter.  The blue has this awesome vampy purple tone to it.  The glitter is fantastic!  Orange with micro-rainbow-glitter.  The red is a bit orange based.  The final glitter is a lot like the Capitol Colours Luxe and Lush except instead of flakies/shards of glitter, it's all glitter.

The Holiday Joy collection is a 12 piece launching in November/December which includes 13 new gift sets.  Five of the polishes will be going into the core line but I can't tell you which ones.  I was asked not to photograph those yet, so they are not available for PolishGalore at this time.

2013
Coming out in Spring 2013 is Avant Garden, a pretty 12 piece collection that is both sweet and slightly pastel.
It's broken down into two 6-pieces sets: Blooming Brights and Pastel Petals.

Also launching as a Sally Beauty Supply Exclusive are real nail polish strips.  Just like others that are out on the market, they are easy to apply and remove with normal nail polish remover.  I did get a couple of sets to take home so I can try them out myself.

And now, what you have ALL been waiting for.  So, back in the day was China Glaze OMG (Holographic) collection.  It consisted of strong linear holographics with great wear time.  Then the actual holographic particles was removed from the US market and polish lovers cried.  China Glaze attempted with Tronica to bring back this beloved product, but it just wasn't quite there.  Well, China Glaze loves you as much as you love China Glaze, and they were able to get their hands on actual holographic material for nail polish.  This stuff is not cheap.  There will be a price increase on this collection.  Launching in Summer 2013 - it's Hologlam!!!!
Yes, 12 colors.  The formula, from what I'm told, is even better than the original.  Drool away.

There were four other collections that China Glaze is coming out with that unfortunately, I'm not able to photograph or talk about but I think I can say that China Glaze has definitely been listening to their fans.  They are really stepping up the level of creativity in their line, and I, as always, am SUPER happy about it.

Please do not take my pictures without expressed permission.  Sharing is caring - stealing is not.

  1. I love the Avant Garden colors...
Super excited about holos but a little sad that they will be called the Hologlam collection because that's what my husband named the holographic polish that I frankened... Oh well, I "used it first" so I don't have to rename it, right? =P

    1. What's in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet. <3

    2. As far as collection names, it depends on whether or not you acquired a legal trademark. I'm sure China Glaze did.

  10. Ahh. I can't believe I thought any other nail polish brand was superior to China Glaze; they clearly are setting the standard nowadays. I am most excited for the Bohemian collection! Such amazing colors! I'm so glad they came out with some different color for the magnet collections; the current magnet polishes on the market, in all brands, have been extremely underwhelming for me color wise so it's nice to see something different. Also really excited for the Holiday Joy collection, anything Christmas-y has got to be amazing.

Thank you for sharing, definitely made my night!

    1. There are a lot of nail polish brands out there but I keep going back to the one that started it all for me - China Glaze!

The new Magnetix 2 has such beautiful colors that you can wear them alone and they are still amazing!

I'll see if I can get a picture of Holiday Joy before I leave.

    1. If you're keeping for your own use, that's okay. I just ask that people don't pass it off as their (removing my logo) or just posting the content as their own. Keep the picture on your computer and look at it often!

    2. Ahhh ok there's a lot of stealing going on especially with big companies smh. I can't wait for Hologlam!

      Delete
    3. Yep! There were a lot of "do not photograph" items because they didn't want them leaked and other companies getting their hands on the idea faster/throwing it out there.

  19. Those holos are a-maz-ing.

Like the spring pastels as well.

Magnetic, well, not all of them are going to be winners. I think that ship has sailed.

  20. I'm excited about the Bohemian colors...I love nail polish that looks like a beetles shell. Also the magnetix in new colors is great since I thought the other colors were a little dull?
I missed out on the OMG collection holo's so I'm glad I get a chance at some again! :) And Halloween is my favorite holiday so I want to see those in real life too.

    1. YES. I'm all about duochrome, multichrome polishes. Also loving the vibrancy of Magnetix. Yay for the others as well!!!

  22. OMG HOLOOOOOOOS. <3 I'm from Australia so there's no way I'll be able to get my hands on them when they come out (in stores - CG isn't sold retail here) but I'd gladly pay an arm & a leg online for those. ;) haha!
Thanks so much for your post, this made me so excited for the upcoming collections!

  23. Between Bohemian and Wicked I'll probably only get a few shades but I can't wait to get my hands on all of the Hologlam collex. You can't ever have too many holos.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Okay, my wishlist as follows:

-A few of the Bohemian colors, including that one the shifts purple to goldish-green (though I have OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, so I'm okay not having the Chanel dupe)
-The Wicked gift pack because I need me some Ghoulish Glow, and those just happen to be the three colors I want! (Thank God I work across from a Sally Beauty around Halloween time!)
-Maybe a couple of the new Magnetix colors, though I'm honestly okay with using my old magnet.
    -EVERY HOLOGLAM COLOR!

  25. I don't particularly like China Glaze because they have formaldehyde :( but they make it soooooo hard to stay away!

    ReplyDelete

    1. No no no! China Glaze is big-3 free. Unless you're talking about Formaldehyde Resin, which I do believe China Glaze does still have.

      Delete
    2. No, Formaldehyde Resin is not at all the same as Formaldehyde. I've read it on loodieloodieloodie's blog. She's a chemist and explained and I did my own research too. Hurray for China Glaze!

I ordered the second round of the magnetics last night. So excited! Hubby may be ashamed of me, but it's been awhile since I've ordered a collection!

  36. Question!
    1) How much will the Holos cost?
And China glaze NEEDS to make a Collection for 'Catching Fire'!! Capitol Colors part 1!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Mimi! The final price has not been finalized - I was just informed that it would be more expensive than the normal core line.

While they did not discuss anything about Catching Fire, I agree with you!

  37. They ALL look amazing, and the collections that you can't talk about must be EVEN BETTER if the ones you CAN talk about are anything to go by!
I better get saving!!! I want them ALL!

  38. Always so exciting to see the previews of collections to come from this convention. I can see folks are going to need track shoes and inside connections to get hold of Hologram bottles next year. I knew it was expensive to get the chemical material to produce good holo, but did not know there was a time when it was withdrawn off the US market. Hope you did not roast while in LV! I so don't do heat!

    1. Thankfully the heat wasn't bad for me since I live in Texas. Having a dry heat was amazing because I'm used to a humid climate which I HATE.

Haha, track shoes and inside connections! :] Love it!

  39. Ahhh! I missed out on the last holo collection by China Glaze because I wasn't quite as obsessed with nail polish as I am now.. I do not want to miss out on it. 'So Fly By' 'Retro Hot' and 'Cosmic Dust' are the three standouts on first glance. Do you know how much of a price increase there will be? I doubt I'll be able to afford all of them, so I was just wondering! Thanks for posting all these pictures! :)

  40. OMG! I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW HARD I FLIPPED OUT WHEN I SAW THOSE HOLO POLISHES BY CHINA GLAZE!! I actually squealed! lol I never got a chance to get the holo collection cause I was still a kid in school and didn't know to much about the polish community or collections back then. I'm 20 now and did manage to buy a few from the old collection on ebay but now..I actually get to buy the new full set! Your'er so freaking lucky to have those collections out already! ugh now I have something to looking forward in 2013..ugh hurry up 2012! lol I feel like people need to know this, we've been wanting more holo from china glaze ever OMG and will people find out they will freak. I'm loving the avant collection, bohemian still has my heart but they can keep wicked. Thanks!

I don't have any samples (press or otherwise) of the Hologlam collection... I just got to look at them. I didn't even get to hold it! (Probably because they know I'd be willing to shove it down my shirt and run away screaming...)

      You're welcome!

  47. I am so HAPPY I love Holographic nail polish and china glaze and I was upset I missed the last Holographic collection the OMG one but now I get to get this one I even can get the whole set. I have the patience to wait till this comes out because one bottle from the OMG collection costs $40-$50 I am not spending that type of money on one bottle. However I would spend that money on two or three. THANK YOU for informing us on the release of this new collection. I might just keep it a secret till I get my own so I get the first stab at them. I am probably gonna get the whole set since I LOVE THEM ALL!
