When I went to PolishCon Chicago 2017, one of my favorite booths was the Tonic Booth. While I was blowing up my credit card, I randomly decided to grab some of the Oops! polishes that were on a shelf. These were one-offs that creator Lindsey found in a box before PolishCon and decided to sell at the convention. Today I have Oops 2, Fall 2017. This is a green based multi-chrome base with intense pink to orange to green shifting shimmer, scattered holographic glitter and multichrome flakes.

Today should be #MakeupMonday but I can't find the item I was going to post, so instead, I'm posting two polishes that are in my purge pile. While I really love Cupcake Polish, its creator Sara, and the holo goodness that she delivers, these two were my naughty faders. Sara is aware of the issues with both of these polishes and if you are the original purchaser, she was offering replacements.

After my run of Morgan Taylor polishes this week, I decided that I needed to go through the three boxes (yes, boxes) of polish that's been sitting around my desk for the past year. As I keep mentioning, I'm trying to do a massive purge and get serious about what I'm keeping so that I can finally get my display shelves made and my collection on the wall instead of in random boxes and well, all over the place. Today, I have a new to me indie brand called illyrian, which has been around since 2014 and the owner is in Houston, Texas which is only 4 hours away from me! The pink polish above is called Charming and it's a nude pink base with lots of rainbow scattered holo bits and some iridescent flakes.

The final Morgan Taylor Platinum polishes that I have to share is Liquid Bling, which was also my favorite one when I first saw it. I have a thing for silver holographic polishes and own way too many of them. However, as with the other polishes I've gotten in this collection, the scattered holo isn't nearly as strong as I'd like.

I forgot just how much I love wearing nail polish... I had a plastic box with about a dozen colors in high school and college and I did get acrylic nails twice ever (once for my senior prom & once for a scholarship pageant) but that was about it. It wasn't until summer 2011 that I fell in love with holographic polishes and well, now my collection has exploded. Today I'm showing off another mainstream holographic from Morgan Taylor's Platinum collection.

Last summer when Morgan Taylor announced they were going to launch a new collection called Platinum, I was stoked. It's been awhile since we've seen holos in the mainstream world but I knew they would come back in some form eventually. Today I have It's Lit! a purple/lilac with scattered holographic particles.

The Polish Convention Returns To New York

Polish Con to be held June 16th, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, White Plains, NY

After a successful fall show in Chicago, The Polish Convention is returning this spring to New York. This bi-annual event hosted by Ever After Polish takes place June 16^th, 2018 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, NY. Polish Con will be filled with over 20 vendors helping attendees celebrate their love for nail polish, and nail polish accessories through shopping, live demos, tutorial tables, and meet and greets with their favorite brand owners and creators. “Polish Con is a great way to bring nail polish loving like-minded souls in one place to meet the brands they love and the friends they know through social media.” Says event organizer Miranda Kraft.

KBShimmer owner Christy Rose says “Polish Con is one of the best opportunities for our brand to interact directly with fans. It is such a joy to see the happiness that attendees have seeing their favorite brands’ products in person. It is an event I look forward to each spring and fall. Ever see a polish and you just need it immediately? That was me when I saw Contrary Polish Honeycomb at Night at PolishCon Chicago 2017. This light blue polish filled with microglitter in shades of light gold, sand and caramel also has a hint of scattered holo although it's only visible in full sunlight and not under normal desk lights or in indirect sun.

Happy Wednesday! Today I pulled out Different Dimension Reflection from a box of polish by my desk. This is a bright berry polish that has color shifting pigment which looks gold in the bottle and comes out red to purple on the nail. This polish is from the Someday We'll All Be Memories Too collection.

I was doing really well with pre-planning posts and then time just got away from me, and so did my polish. I have boxes all over my living room and all over my desk so I'm determined to get it handled, especially with my in-laws coming at the end of the month!

Back in December, a new skincare called LifeDNA reached out to me about their line that recently launched. I was interested because since I've hit 30 a few years ago, my skin has been a complete mystery to me. I thought I had oily skin but my skin is actually quite dry, needs to be exfoliated often and I "most likely" have rosacea. Yes, that was the diagnosis from a dermatologist. (And yes, I'm looking for a second opinion.)
