Last month, I donated 20 pounds of nail polish to my local cosmetology school and it was a great feeling to both clear out my shelves and provide product to students. The teacher was overwhelmed - she thought I was just bringing a couple and had a makeup train ready to put them in so when I brought in two big bags, she didn't know what to do. I plan on making another donation soon so I'm going through all the random places I have polish here at the house and getting things ready for either permanent placement in my home or being donated somewhere.

In my day job with the Navy, I end up interacting with some really amazing people - one of them being the editor of our local newspaper. He has a great dry wit and there was a time where we were talking about something that he said "What is happening" in a really dry sarcastic way and it really stuck with me. Well today is a "What is happening" with the polish that I decided to pull out of a box that's been sitting next to my desk.

So for now, I think I'm going to be showcasing 2 indies and 2 mainstream polishes a week. I think that's a pretty decent balance as I'm going through my Purge and just my collection in general. It also helps keep me motivated because I have so many pros and cons when it comes to indies and when it comes to mainstreams. Mondays are still currently a toss up. I have #MakeupMonday or sometimes I just want to throw in another polish or nail treatment... What are your thoughts on that?

I cannot believe it's already February and just next week is Valentine's Day. It also means that my oldest is about to turn 11 - he was originally due on Valentine's but decided to come a little early. Sally Hansen has been stepping up their nail art game so I was excited when they came out with Chrome Powders for consumer use. I've also been on a huge rose gold kick for the past several months so I was all over this kit.

Do you find yourself wearing "winter" colors in the spring? Because that was my motivation today with the above China Glaze polish.
Every once in awhile, I like to grab a neutral polish to try and "cleanse" the palette. Considering how many glitters, holos and shimmers I own, it's nice to have a simple creme.

2017 was a huge year of travel for me going across the country to be at different conventions including Indie Expo Canada, hosted by Girly Bits Cosmetics. It was my first time to Canada and I was very pleased by the polite people and clean atmosphere. I even took a public train and didn't get lost!

Happy Makeup Monday! Today I'm giving my nails a break and wanted to share this really cute portable razor that I got at Cosmoprof North America last year! I went to their media luncheon and Sphynx was one of the beauty brands that was exhibiting. On top of the idea being awesome, the packaging is super cute. Sphynx comes in four colors - Pink Me Up, Teal The Deal, Berry Haute and Black In Style and is available for $14.99 on their website.

I'm continuing on my personal Purge and it's been interesting seeing what colors I tend to gravitate to and what I THINK I like vs what really looks good on my nails. Granted, it all comes down to personal taste but I tend to surprise myself time and time again.

In 2017, I went to Canada for the first time to go to Indie Expo Canada, hosted by Girly Bits Cosmetics. One of the brands that was participating in the VIP bags was Bliss Polish and today I grabbed this coral shimmer to wear. It's sweetly named VIP @ IEC.
Time for a rockstar manicure because it's Wednesday and I have exactly two months before my largest event of 2018 at work. So I pulled out a China Glaze polish from the winter 2017 The Glam Finale collection.
